Whatever - Why I cannot really solve boredom?

"The words of the Teacher, son of David, king in Jerusalem:
“Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher. “Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless.”
What do people gain from all their labors at which they toil under the sun?
Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever.
The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises.
The wind blows to the south and turns to the north; round and round it goes, ever returning on its course.
All streams flow into the sea, yet the sea is never full. To the place the streams come from, there they return again.
All things are wearisome, more than one can say. The eye never has enough of seeing, nor the ear its fill of hearing.
What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.
Is there anything of which one can say, “Look! This is something new”? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time.
No one remembers the former generations, and even those yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow them.
"
-Ecclesiastes 1:1-11

(1) Recognise that things in life can wear me down. (v4-8)
There are two main points to this - (a) How God made this world and (b) How God made me.

(a) How God made this world - God designed the world to run on cyclical foundations (v4-7)
Think water cycle, carbon cycle, nitrogen cycle...
But why?
Why this design?
Cuz
With predictability, comes security and stability!

(b) How God made me - God created me to yearn for freshness in life (v8)
Sounds like a contradiction?
Not quite...
If life is 'all predictability', it becomes 'boredom';
if life is 'all freshness', it becomes 'eccentricity'.

So, what is God's remedy for us?

(2) Look for freshness that only God can offer. (v9-11)

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!-2 Corinthians 5:17
In Greek, 'new' can be 'neos' or 'kainos'.
Simply put, 'neos' means 'new in presentation, same in nature';
but 'kainos' means 'new in nature', never been there'.
'New' in 2 Corinthians 5:17 is 'kainos'.

Why does God create tension in our lives?
So that we will go back to God to have the tension managed.
True freshness is only found in Jesus Christ - adventurous but safe, exciting but secure.

"...He who refreshes others will himself be refreshed."-Proverbs 11:25

When you walk with the Holy Spirit, you will never be bored cuz God will bring you to where he wants you to be.
Invite the Holy Spirit to walk with you every moment, let God guide you in what you should say and do everyday. :)
